Dr. Peter G. Reichl grew up in Greendale, Wisconsin, graduated from Marquette University High School and studied engineering at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Upon graduating from Marquette University School of Dentistry, he completed a general dentistry residency at Fort Jackson, South Carolina and then served as a United States Army general dentist in Berlin, Germany and North Carolina until he entered his orthodontic residency. After receiving his certificate in orthodontics from the Advance Education Program in Orthodontics, Fort Knox, Kentucky and his Master of Science degree from the University of Louisville, Dr. Reichl returned to Germany to serve in the military as an orthodontist. While in Germany, Dr. Reichl was promoted to the rank of lieutenant colonel. After serving his country for 12 years, Dr. Reichl resigned his military commission and moved back home to Wisconsin to be closer to family.
Dr. Reichl was the first orthodontist in Waukesha and Hartland to be Board Certified by the American Board of Orthodontics. He is a certified Invisalign provider and is an active member in the American Dental Association, the Wisconsin Dental Association, the Waukesha County Dental Society, the American Association of Orthodontics, the Midwestern Society of Orthodontists and the Wisconsin Society of Orthodontics. Dr. Reichl also serves on the board of the Waukesha County Dental Society. Dr. Reichl is a part-time faculty member at the Marquette University School of Dentistry, has authored publications and has given numerous presentations at local and national dental meetings.
Dr. Reichl’s relaxed, easygoing personality is evident while interacting with staff and patients who quickly realize the fantastic experience orthodontics can be when treated by someone who genuinely enjoys what he does! His interest in dentistry was inspired by an older brother who is currently an assistant professor at the University of Georgia Dental School. Ironically, Dr. Reichl’s interest to pursue orthodontics began when he underwent orthodontic treatment while attending dental school. It was then he realized the tremendous affect orthodontics contributes to one’s self-esteem and smile.
During his free time, Dr. Reichl enjoys spending time with his family. He also enjoys golfing, traveling, attending sporting events and cheering for the Packers, Bucks, Brewers, Marquette Warriors (Golden Eagles) and the Wisconsin Badgers, except when they play Marquette!
